The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, “Rio +20”, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 20 to 22 June 2012. The conference will be preceeded by the third Preparatory Committee meeting of the Conference from 13 to 15 June 2012. In accordance with General Assembly resolution 66/544, the pre-registration for participation in the preparatory meeting and in the Conference by relevant NGOs and other major groups is now open.
Preregistration is open to:
NGOs and major groups that are currently in consultative status with ECOSOC as NGOs (including those on the roster through the list of the Commission on Sustainable Development). See ECOSOC list here.
NGOs and major groups that were accredited to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. See WSSD2002 list here.
