CENTRAC was founded in 1987, and is headquartered in Campina Grande, Paraíba. The organization promotes exercises in citizenship, social justice, and democracy. The project supported by BrazilFoundation was implemented by a group of women, heads of low-income families, who worked with food processing. The project gave structure to a cooperative to be managed by these women, and trained them to sell the surplus of food produced. The project generated income and guaranteed food security.
