Raimundo da Silva “Mundinho” – Fundação Brasil Cidadão

The Brazil Citizen Foundation promotes sustainable development and income generation in Icapuí, Ceará.

With the project “Women of Body and Alagae” the women of Icapuí learned methods of harvesting and processing algae into a variety of products, such as soaps, shampoos, and culinary ingredients, to be sold and generate income for many families.

Raimundo, known as Mundinho, is a local fisherman and farmer. Through the project, “Women of Body and Alagae” learned about the importance of growing algae for local sustainability. Mundinho plants and harvests the algae that these women use to make artcrafted commercial products.
