On October 30th, Ambassador Hélio Vitor Ramos Filho, the Consul General of Brazil in Miami, hosted a lunch at Shutts & Bowen law firm for the Foundation’s community of supporters in Miami. Over lunch, guests learned about the philanthropic activities of the Foundation through a talk given by Guilherme Franco, founder of the Plan B Institute, an organization which is receiving funding and technical support from the Foundation this year.

With a grant from the Foundation, Plan B Institute is providing professional and technical training to 90 adolescents between the ages of 15 and 24, while also including monitoring and healthcare coverage for all family members of the adolescent beneficiaries. Guilherme spoke about the important role the Foundation has played in the development of the Plan B Institute: “The approval of our project by BrazilFoundation was a milestone that filled us with joy and hope. Besides the financial aid, we also received an excellent week-long training, where several areas for improvement in our institution were identified.” As a result of these improvements, the Institute recently was approved to receive funding from Petrobras.
