The Carioca Fund of BrazilFoundation continues to support the professional training of young people from communities in Rio de Janeiro. As it has done in the last two years, the Carioca Fund launched a contest to encourage young people to discover and develop their artistic talents and learn more about the opportunities for work in the creative economy.

The contest “I, a Young Carioca, have a Story to Tell” received 101 entries from students in public schools located in PPU (Pacifying Police Unit) areas, telling stories on various topics from their everyday lives.

Selected students participated in workshops and visited O DIA, and plan yet to visit advertising agency Weber Schandwick. The works, illustrated by students from Senai Graphic Arts, will soon be published in the newspaper O DIA and circulated on social networks. The award ceremony will take place on December 4th.
