BrazilFoundation Awards First Ever Excellence Prize

The Excellence Prize was created because BrazilFoundation understood the importance of strengthening the technical and operational capacity of civil society organizations, and at the same time, because it recognized the absence of financial resources allocated toward this kind of institutional support. Thus, to fill this financial gap, the Foundation will award single grants of R$ 120,000 for two years to five organizations that have received grants in the past. The resources for this award were obtained through a donation aimed specifically at promoting the institutional development of civil society organizations.

Twenty-seven exemplary organizations were invited to apply, and each submitted an application outlining first its present organizational structure and then explaining how the prize would allow the organization to develop and meet its long-term goals. See the winners below:
