Dear Friends,
In this edition of the newsletter we share with you the Annual Project Selection preliminary results. BrazilFoundation received a total of 515 project proposals in the areas of Education, Health, Human Rights, Participatory Development, Culture and Local Development. The 2011 Open Call for Proposals had a new format and offered grants for two-year projects focused on local community development.
It is also with great joy that we announce the first BrazilFoundation Gala in Miami, which will take place in March. The event sponsored by W South Beach Hotel & Residences will honor Norberto Odebrecht, for his work ahead of the Odebrecht Foundation, which for the past 50 years has contributed to generating opportunities for Brazilian youth. The Gala is being organized by the event’s Chair, Brazilian Indy race car driver Helio Castroneves, Co‐Chairs Daniela Fonseca and Maria Carolina Tavares de Melo, along with an extremely engaged organizing committee. The I BrazilFoundation Gala MIAMI promises to be a success! Read below about sponsorship opportunities, tickets and tables!
And during the month of June, BrazilFoundation and Brazil Child Health will host the second edition of the Festa Junina Benefit – Children Helping Children. We are looking for sponsors!
Finally, don’t miss the article by this month’s Guest Blogger, Pedro Werneck, social entrepreneur and president of Instituto da Criança, a BrazilFoundation partner organization of many years.
